Apprentice Success Stories
Tom Levett joined Brafe as a 1st Year Apprentice in 2012, and was soon accompanied by Tim Newport. They are now both front-line Machinists, working with the most complex of materials and demanding machining requirements. In between, both Tom and Tim went through a formal training program, culminating in a successful HNC Qualification, alongside the equally important experience of working with our time-served Precision Engineers in our Machine-shop.
Tom Pulham began his career at Brafe in 2013; with a solid education, but little exposure to the real work of Precision Engineering, and more specifically Metrology – “The Scientific Study of Measurement”. Coupled with his “on the job” training with our Quality Control team, Tom gained a company funded Foundation Degree Qualification in Metrology from Coventry University in 2017 – embracing the need for remote learning of such a niche skill.

Alex is one of three employees who’ve recently passed their HNC in Mechanical Engineering, a vital qualification to accompany his role within our Plant Engineering & Maintenance Team. Again, this formal classroom training has perfectly complemented his hands-on education alongside our highly qualified and skilled engineers at Brafe. Alex’s Training continues with larger scale project work and advancement to the equivalent HND qualification.
